Abigail Hawk, known for her role as Detective Abigail Baker on the hit CBS drama Blue Bloods, recently shared heartwarming stories about her early days on set with co-star Tom Selleck. Hawk, who initially had a minor role, credits Selleck’s kindness and mentorship for her 14-season run on the show.

In an interview on the Think Big With Michael Zellner podcast, Hawk described how Selleck, who plays Commissioner Frank Reagan, went out of his way to make her feel welcome and valued, even brainstorming scene improvements with her. This collaborative spirit impressed producers and led to Hawk being invited back for more episodes.

Hawk also revealed how Selleck encouraged her to watch classic films like High Noon and D-Day to gain a deeper understanding of her character’s role as a trusted confidante.


Despite the show’s recent cancellation, Hawk spoke highly of Selleck’s continued passion for the series. She disputed rumors of his retirement, saying he is “more invigorated than I have ever seen him.”
