Michael Weatherly shares exciting news about his career after NCIS – all the details

Michael Weatherly, who left NCIS in 2016, has revealed his latest venture – making music! The actor posted a preview of the song he has been working on with Casey Hooper, a producer who has collaborated with Katy Perry and other stars. Fans were thrilled to get a glimpse of his personal passion.

“I’m creating new music with @CaseyHoops as the producer! It’s going to be delayed for a few weeks, but I’ll try to tease you with a delicious bite…” he tweeted on December 26, followed by a video of him singing a part of the song against a dark blue background.

“This is the mood I’m going for… a little Christmas treat for you!” he wrote. Check out the video below…

“Love it! You can tell it has a lot of personal meaning, it almost looked as if you were holding back tears when singing it,” commented one fan, as another praised the “approach” the 55-year-old was taking, and added: “I’m looking forward to the entire album. It’s worth waiting longer.”

Before leaving NCIS in 2016, Michael Weatherly recorded two songs for the show, ‘Bitter and Blue’ and ‘Under the Sun’. He also had a band in his early days as an actor in New York City.

He announced to his fans a few weeks ago that he was planning to release an album for Christmas, but it has been postponed. He shared the news on X, saying: “I have a full album (old-fashioned word) coming this Christmas… This is my debut… a song about Icarus and a world on the edge. ‘Wings of Wax & Wood’ is the next chapter…”

The star, who also starred in Bull, has been posting fun videos on social media over the holidays, showing him dressed as Santa Claus and baking with his two little kids.

He wished everyone a “Merry Christmas” as he grinned at the camera, then showed off their cookies and turned the camera to his son Liam, who was shy, and his daughter Olivia, who smiled mischievously.

Michael quit NCIS in 2016, but he sometimes teases a comeback, and there were rumors that he was negotiating for a spin-off in early 2023.

He left in 2016 following Cote de Pablo’s exit.

“[Tony and Ziva’s] great dynamic, the badinage and sparring and flirting between those two characters and how they would swing from siblings to near lovers and back to buddies, that was gone,” he shared of his departure.

“Then I got to the point where I felt I’d stayed at the party for too long.”
