Blue Bloods Season 14: Signs Pointing Towards Danny & Baez Romance?

We all cheered when the writers’ guild and actors’ union strikes ended last year. It meant the return of many shows, including a beloved CBS drama that’s dominated Friday nights for years – Blue Bloods. Now, Season 14A is almost over.

While there are still episodes left, the Reagan family saga seems to be nearing its conclusion. We’ve seen new relatives, strong friendships, and NYPD teamwork. But what about love?

Is Danny Reagan Ready for Romance?

Fans of the police procedural are looking for clues about how Danny Reagan’s story might end. The second episode, “Dropping Bombs,” offered some interesting hints. The title was fitting, as the writers dropped some emotional bombshells.

One key moment had fans buzzing: Danny seemed to admit romantic feelings. The big clue came during a tense interrogation with serial killer Dr. Walker. He taunted Danny, suggesting his fear of relationships stemmed from his wife’s death. Dr. Walker implied a new lover would be in danger. Though meant to be hurtful, Danny acknowledged the underlying fear.

“He was right,” Danny said. “I don’t want to get involved with a partner. I can’t risk someone I care about getting hurt.”

But who was Danny referring to? Detective Maria Baez (Marisa Ramirez) or Jackie Curatola (Jennifer Esposito)?

It’s been seven years since Danny lost his wife, and it seems he’s slowly opening up to love again.

Signs Pointing to Baez

Blue Bloods is known for subtle hints, and sometimes the cast and crew offer their own speculations. After the “Shadowland” episode (where Baez reunites with an old partner), many fans noticed Danny’s jealousy. Interestingly, actor Donnie Wahlberg seemed to agree.

A fan jokingly tweeted after the episode: “Looks like Danny Reagan isn’t thrilled about Baez grabbing drinks with her old partner.”

Wahlberg’s reply was short but intriguing: “He is not pleased.❤️”

Maybe Wahlberg is just having fun with fans. After all, Danny could see both Baez and Jackie as close colleagues, like family within the NYPD. His jealousy could be professional, not romantic.

But wouldn’t we all love to see something more passionate develop?
