NCIS’ 1000th Episode: Set Photo Reveals Fan Favorite’s Character Return!

NCIS’ 1000th Episode: Fornell Returns, But Will Gibbs Follow?

NCIS is gearing up for a milestone episode, its 1000th, and fan-favorite Tobias Fornell is confirmed to be making a comeback. This has fans speculating on whether other original cast members, particularly Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), might also appear.

Fornell Returns to Help NCIS Team

The 1000th episode will focus on the current NCIS team led by Special Agent Alden Parker. However, they’ll be receiving some assistance from a familiar face – Tobias Fornell, a recurring guest star who has been a friend and ally to Gibbs throughout the series.

Will Gibbs Make an Appearance?

With Fornell returning, speculation is high that Gibbs might finally make a comeback. Harmon’s absence from Ducky’s farewell episode in season 21 was a disappointment for many fans. While there’s no confirmation yet, the situation involving Vance could be a strong enough reason for Gibbs to return to D.C.

Other Original Cast Possibilities

While Gibbs is a big question mark, there are other original cast members who could potentially appear. Michael Weatherly recently returned as Tony DiNozzo, and his next appearance could include Cote de Pablo’s Ziva David. Pauley Perrette, who played Abby Sciuto, is also a possibility.

Vance Takes Center Stage

The decision to focus the 1000th episode on Vance might seem surprising to some. However, Vance’s long tenure as director and his connections to various characters throughout the show’s history allows for a natural way to bring back former agents like Gibbs, DiNozzo, Ziva, or even Abby.

A Look Ahead

The 1000th episode of NCIS will air on April 15th as part of season 21. While Fornell’s return is confirmed, fans will have to wait and see if other original cast members join the celebration.
